About me
Mariam Kholany holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from CICECO, University of Aveiro (Portugal), where her research focused on the development of sustainable and integrated biorefinery processes for enhanced resource efficiency and waste valorization using marine biomass, specifically for the recovery of bioactive compounds. She earned her BSc in Biotechnology and her MSc in Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology, both from the University of Aveiro. Mariam has published 11 articles in international peer-reviewed journals and has been an active participant in several international conferences and projects.
Currently, she is a member of the GreenCoLab team, specializing in biorefinery technologies. Leveraging her expertise in marine biorefinery, Mariam has joined the team to advance new biorefinery processes and technologies, aiming to optimize the sustainable production of new products and waste valorization.
