The Spa of the Future

The main objectives of this project are to establish a strategic framework for the development of spas in the Algarve region, emphasizing the principles of decarbonization, sustainability, circularity, and digitalization. The project aims to raise awareness and promote the production and use of renewable energy sources in spas.

Additionally, the project seeks to encourage the adoption of green technologies and the use of local products by fostering innovation processes and stimulating cooperation and coopetition among stakeholders. It also aims to strengthen and consolidate networks between spa companies, research institutions, and public entities. Overall, the goal is to position spas as a differentiated and competitive tourism product of excellence in the region, with strong connections to health and well-being, as well as to broaden the economic activities of the region.
