GreenCoLab has been recognized by the European Commission’s Innovation Radar team, as Key Innovator for its innovative contribution to the development of yellow mutant strains of Chlorella vulgaris for food applications, in synergy with Allmicroalgae. This innovation is part of transforming algae-based outputs the EU-funded ProFuture project.
This recognition was made available on Innovation Radar’s public website under ‘Innovative Chlorella vulgaris mutant strains with yellow colour for food applications’. The distinction awarded to ‘yellow chlorella’ classifies it as Tech Ready, a category that identifies innovations at advanced stages of technological development. This means that the technology is at a significant point of evolution, having already passed through the stages of prototyping, pilot testing, and demonstration.
The Tech Ready, recognition emphasizes the importance of moving on to the commercialization preparation phase, which involves adapting the product to market needs, creating entry strategies, and developing partnerships to ensure commercial success.
