ASSOCIAÇÃO OCEANO VERDE – LABORATÓRIO COLABORATIVO PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO DE TECNOLOGIAS E PRODUTOS VERDES DO OCEANO (hereinafter referred to as GreenCoLAB) opens a recruitment 1 position/vacancy for Life Cycle Analysis Specialist (M/F). The candidate will joint to the Sustainability team to perform Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) of algae production, including Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) systems.

Tasks:

  • Perform life cycle inventories of different algal bioprocesses, including the collection of data in terms of production and processing at laboratory, pilot and industrial scales;
  • Develop life cycle analysis to assess the environmental, social and economic sustainability of algae production;

Profile required:

  • Master’s in environmental engineering, biological engineering, biotechnology, life science, or related fields;
  • Experience in life cycle analysis methodologies;
  • Experience in algae production processes;
  • Fluency in English and excellent writing skills.

Other Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in LCA softwares (eg OpenLCA, GABI, SimaPro);
  • Experience in Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) and algae bioprocesses and processing;
  • Be strongly motivated, demonstrate autonomy and the ability to propose new approaches.

Starting Date: The contract is scheduled to start in July 2022 and will last for 12 months (the period necessary to implement the proposed work plan). It can be renewable after this.
Workplace: The activities will be mainly carried out at GreenCoLAB headquarters
Work schedule: Full time (35 hours a week).
