GreenCoLab was present at the ‘Tasting of EU Aquaculture Products’ event, held during the official launch of the EU Aquaculture Communication campaign – “We Work for You with Passion”, in Brussels. Representing the Food Nutrition Working Group, Kricelle Deamici (Food Nutrition Leader) and Ana Teresa Gonçalves (Animal Nutrition Leader) brought innovative algae-based food prototypes to the event, such as Algae Gems and Algae Beer, highlighting the vast potential of algae in gastronomic and nutritional applications.
Organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MARE), the event was closely linked to the Taste the Ocean” campaign, which aims to raise international awareness of the benefits of European aquaculture and boost the sustainable growth of the sector on the continent. For GreenCoLab, this was a valuable opportunity to highlight the relevance of algae, not just as a superfood, but as a key ingredient for the future of food and nutrition.
