GreenCoLab’s partnership with the prestigious Chef Leonel Pereira from the CheckIn Restaurant in Faro gave rise to two new creative culinary workshops as part of the “Algae on the Menu” project, to celebrate two important dates in the algae industry, World Algae Day and World Food Day, which brought together food enthusiasts and connoisseurs for an immersive experience. The event aimed to encourage creativity in the kitchen, promote the learning of special techniques, and strengthen the sense of community among the participants.
Under the guidance of the chef, participants explored the use of microalgae as a special ingredient in the creation of dishes, enhancing the unique flavor of the ocean. The culinary techniques presented reinforced the value of creativity and the conscious use of different ingredients, inspiring everyone to innovate in their kitchens.
The participants responded with great enthusiasm. “It was a wonderful experience! I was able to try out new techniques and meet people with the same passion for gastronomy,” commented Nuno Antão, one of the participants. In the end, everyone was able to taste the dishes prepared and take home exclusive recipes.
Based on the success of the event, the organization is already planning new editions to meet demand and provide new experiences for those who want to improve their culinary skills in a fun and creative way.
