GreenCoLab teamed up with S2AQUAcoLAB and joined AQUA 24, held from August 26 to 30 in Copenhagen, Denmark. This world-renowned event brought together leading experts and companies in the aquaculture industry to discuss the latest trends and innovations.
Our team of researchers was present with a booth, where they presented the latest innovations and market-ready solutions. One of the highlights was the “Ex-vivo Platform for Functional Tracking” developed in partnership with SPAROS, Lda. This platform represents a significant advance in the ability to evaluate and optimize the performance of ingredients and formulations in aquaculture, offering professionals in the sector more accurate and effective tools.
Researcher Ana Teresa Gonçalves presented the lecture entitled “Targeting the Optimization of Gut Microbiota-Host Interaction in Salmons: Assessing Functional Ingredients in an Ex-vivo Approach”  and a poster “Exploring the Diatom Skeletonema Costatum as a Functional Ingredient to Boost Atlantic Salmon Mucosa Health”.
Additionally, Maria João Xavier contributed took two scientific posters, detailing advances in animal nutrition:
“Impacts of Dietary Algae Supplementation on Turbot Post-Larvae Performance” and “Tetradesmus Obliquus Fractions as Modulators of Gut Health Status”. Both works investigate the potential of microalgae fractions as modulators of intestinal and mucosal health in aquatic species.
