Researchers Kricelle Deamici and Daniel Silva, from GreenCoLab, enthusiastically participated in Vitafoods Europe, held from May 14 to 16 in Geneva, Switzerland. With a clear mission to drive our algae innovation agenda, the duo showcased an impressive range of algae-based food prototypes developed by our lab’s Food WG.
This participation in Vitafoods Europe was a perfect opportunity to showcase how algae can empower the nutraceutical and food industry by offering sustainable solutions to improve global nutritional health. Among the innovations were hamburgers, caviar and algae beer, all meticulously tested through sensory analysis with anonymous groups.
Vitafoods Europe has not only provided us with a platform to showcase our creations but has also allowed us to establish valuable contacts with strategic partners and foster new collaborations with companies interested in innovative and sustainable products.
We are excited about the impact these innovations will have on the industry and look forward to continuing to explore the potential of algae in promoting healthier and more sustainable eating.
