The promoting company Generosa Nature and GreenCoLab, a partner in the “SEAWEED2PLANT” project, organised the final event, which included the algae production partners Allmicroalgae, ALGAplus and Necton. The event featured speakers Cristina Mota Capitão and Rosário Sommer (Generosa Nature), Florinda Gama and Catarina Viana (GreenCoLab).
Within the scope of the project, funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, through the EEA Grants Portugal (EEA.BG.SGS1_2.005.202) with the support of the Directorate-General for Maritime Policy, relevant results were achieved, related to the use of by-products from the seaweed industry in Portugal in indoor plants, with a view to their valorisation, promoting the circular economy and sustainability in the use of natural resources, established in the European Green Deal.
These results demonstrate algae’s potential as a valuable resource and reinforce the commitment to more sustainable and innovative practices, contributing to a greener and more balanced future.
